Vals les Bains

The town of Vals-les-Bains is a spa specializing in the treatment of diabetes, liver ailments, stomach, intestines and obesity problems. Vals waters were discovered in 1602 by a fisherman named Pierre Brun, who, with the help of the absorption of water from a new source, following a flood, found himself cured of stone disease. It was then the turn of Claude Expilly (adviser to the parliament of Grenoble), to be cured of this disease. He lived a long time, and attributed his longevity to the waters of Vals.

Calvary can be admired, built in 1732 by Dr. Malmazet, overlooking the city, and recently, the mosaic Cross path directed by Bernadette Bellows, an artist northern Ardeche.
